The re-design of the RST is a return to the original principles of the Shakespearean theater form; the thrust stage and intimacy between audience and players would be familiar to him. A collective experience is shared between everyone in a thrust stage auditorium, not divided by a proscenium arch nor distanced by rows and rows of seats, but united in an emotional, visceral and magical way.
